The word "hydrangea" made me think of one of my favorite movie scenes from "It's A Wonderful Life." Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed walk home after everyone had danced into the pool that night. They are singing "Buffalo Gals" together. Mary reminds me of myself when she becomes dreamy-eyed about old houses. I love this dialogue: GEORGE
"What is it you want, Mary? You want the moon? Just say the word and I’ll throw a lasso around it and pull it down. Hey, that’s a pretty good idea. I’ll give you the moon, Mary."
MARY
"I’ll take it.
Then what?"
GEORGE
"Well, then you could swallow it and it’d all dissolve, see? And the moonbeams would shoot out of your fingers and your toes, and the ends of your hair."
(GEORGE pauses, then says)
"Am I talking too much?"
MAN ON PORCH
"Yes! Why don’t you kiss her instead of talking her to death?"
George is accidentally standing on her robe and as she leaps away, it comes off. She's undressed in the bushes. He says "Where are you?" "In the hydrangea."
